The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff's training, professional credentials and work experience.
Ed Davis, DPM, FACFAS
Dr. Ed Davis is a podiatrist with over 25 year of experience treating foot and ankle problems. He believes that foot and ankle problems are most effectively treated when the diagnosis and treatment is focused on the cause of the problem as opposed to treating symptoms. Podiatry is a profession which grew based on the concept of keeping people on their feet during treatment as much as possible, minimizing time loss, minimizing disability. Active patients recover faster from foot problems and are less likely to have the problems recur. A focus on minimally invasive procedures, noninvasive procedures and advanced diagnostic techniques help make that possible. Dr. Davis believes that the best patient is one who is well informed about their diagnosis and treatment and is actively involved in their treatment plan. He then relocated to San Antonio in December 2007 to enter practice at South Texas Podiatrist. He brings twenty-five years of clinical experience in biomechanics and foot surgery. Dr. Davis is a former surgical instructor at two podiatric residency training programs in foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Davis received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Rutgers College. He received his podiatric medical degree from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed residency training at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Washington, DC, followed by three years of service in the National Health Service Corps in West Virginia. Dr. Davis then established a private practice in West Virginia. Enhancement of interprofessional relations between classes of health care providers was an important project that he initiated as president of the West Virginia Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Davis and his family relocated to Washington State in 1994 where he practices until 2006. He then relocated to San Antonio in 2007. He brings twenty-five years of clinical experience in biomechanics and foot surgery. Dr. Davis is a former surgical instructor at two podiatric residency training programs in foot and ankle surgery. He has achieved Board Certification in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
Hiking, reading, and public service are among the many varieties of activities that Dr. Davis enjoys in his leisure time. |
